The Love That Makes Waves

Friends,

In our heart of hearts there is a blueprint of what a fulfilling life is. If you really feel into it, you can find it, right there, in your heart of hearts. We all yearn for it. Especially when our daily life falls short of what the heart finds satisfying. We are not meant to live in the doldrums. We are meant to live with passion.

We awaken to that fullness when we fall in love. Being in love contains the elements of aliveness that all human beings yearn for: alertness, passion, joy, intensity. Suddenly the gray landscape of everyday life gains color. At that time we feel alive, light and expansive.

But falling in love doesn’t happen every day, and doesn’t seem to be within our control. So: Waiting for love to come? Waiting for life to happen? This is a recipe for waiting your life away. Sitting it out on the bench. There must be a better way than waiting to be saved by a romantic prospect.

LOVE is the way, indeed. And the beautiful thing is, it doesn’t need to be romantic. When we sincerely care about others and want to bring them joy, good energy, upliftment, understanding, it is kindling for the same fire. If we blow on that warm ember of love by holding the intention to love for a little while, the warmth in our hearts grows bigger. It gathers momentum. If it gathers enough momentum, the ripple of love can turn into a big wave.

In nautical terms, they call this phenomenon “fetch.” Fetch is the unobstructed distance over which wind blows across a body of water, which directly influences the size of the waves. The longer the fetch, the bigger the waves. Listen to David Truman speaking about “fetch” as it applies to love. [Read transcript]

The beautiful thing is, we are entirely in control of how much or how long we love. And it doesn’t matter at all if the people we love even know about it! All that matters is the love that we give. Try it out and see! We have tried it and can attest to the efficacy of this method. Listen to a student of David Truman sharing her experience. [Read transcript]

It may take some effort to get in touch with your natural loving heart. It may take some practice to sustain the intention to love for longer than a moment. But friends, we guarantee you, effort and practice turn into gold. They turn the doldrums into a life worth living.

If you want some support in learning how to bring your love to life, we are here to help you.

We meet twice monthly on Zoom to practice a love-based meditation—Unification—to bring our love to the world, and to talk about our experiences of loving. These meetings are free, because we believe that this world needs more love, and because we believe this is the right thing to do. Here is where you can see our schedule and sign up to join the meetings.

Sincerely,
Your Friends at Love Trust
